Itanagar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the results of the Class X and XII examinations for the academic session 2024-25, with Arunachal Pradesh showing mixed outcomes. While some districts reported notable improvements, the overall performance remained below the national average.
For Class X, Arunachal Pradesh recorded a pass percentage of 66.33%, significantly lower than the national average of 93.66%. A total of 18,692 students appeared for the examination, out of which 12,398 cleared it. Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 69.01% compared to 63.52% for boys.
District-wise data revealed substantial year-on-year improvements in several areas. Kra Daadi district posted the highest improvement with a 38.45% rise, followed closely by Kamle (34.48%), Tirap (31.89%), and Kurung Kumey (29.82%). Capital Complex also saw a significant jump, registering a 25.95% improvement.
However, some districts reported declines in performance. Lepa Rada witnessed the steepest drop with a negative swing of 27.46%, followed by East Siang (-27.04%), Upper Subansiri (-20.55%), Shi Yomi (-25.78%), and Siang (-22.55%).
In contrast, Class XII results offered a slightly better picture, with a state pass percentage of 79.02%, still below the national average of 88.39%. Of the 17,055 students who appeared, 10,760 passed. Girls again outshone boys with a pass percentage of 81.55%, while boys stood at 76.30%.
With 333 schools and 118 exam centres for Class X and 152 schools and 105 centres for Class XII, the CBSE ensured accessibility across the state. Yet, Arunachal continues to lag behind other northeastern states like Assam (95.13%) and Meghalaya (96.35%) in overall performance.
Nationally, Trivandrum and Vijayawada topped the Class X chart with 99.79% pass rates, while Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas led among institutions with a 99.49% success rate.
